HMMER is an analysis package for protein sequence analysis using profile Hidden Markov Models (HMM). Profile HMMs can be used to do sensitive database searching using statistical descriptions of a sequence family's consensus. Delta HPC makes use of both an optimized HTC-HMMER and optimized versions of the most time-consuming HMMER algorithms, hmmpfam and hmmsearch.
